The Grantecan telescope (Gran telescopio de Canarias) is already operative since 24th July 2009 in Roque de los Muchachos Observatory in the IAC (Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias) in La Palma.This is one the biggest telescopes in the world. Their majesties the king and queen of Spain  Don Juan carlos and Doña Sofía presided over the event. This project has been completed in colaboration with the University of Florida und Mexico among others. This webcam shows the inside of the cupule. Click on the image to zoom in and out.

The Telescopio Nazionale Galileo (TNG), with a primary mirror of 3.58m, is the national facility of the Italian astronomical community, and is located at Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory (ORM)

Mount Teide view from one of the observatory web cams. During sunset, there is a nice contrast of Teide and the sky. Sometimes there is no visibility at all, when the sea cloud is around the vulcano.
