What we call ‘Tenerife South’ is not exactly the geographical South. Due to the diagonal mountains that splits Tenerife in two halves, the clouds usually cannot go through, providing two very different micro climates. Tenerife South refers then to the sunny part, where temperatures are much higher.
El Medano is a picturesque and original village of fishers in the south of Tenerife. It is probably the best surf resort in Tenerife that is why is often called the surfers paradise. There are also a few bars, restaurants and surf shops at the beach front.

Playa de Fañabe – Las Américas
Playa de Fañabe is located in Las Américas, south of Tenerife. This beach has black volcanic sand and still waves. This camera is located in the Iberostar Gran Hotel Anthelia resort.
