Camera pointing to the sky. The Bradford Robotic Telescope installation is part of the Teide Observatory site of the IAC (Instituto De Astrofisica De Canarias). This observatory is the best in Europe and is placed at 2,400 metres (7,874 feet) above the sea, on the northern part of the volcano caldera.

The Grantecan telescope (Gran telescopio de Canarias) is already operative since 24th July 2009 in Roque de los Muchachos Observatory in the IAC (Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias) in La Palma.This is one the biggest telescopes in the world. Their majesties the king and queen of Spain  Don Juan carlos and Doña Sofía presided over the event. This project has been completed in colaboration with the University of Florida und Mexico among others. This webcam shows the inside of the cupule. Click on the image to zoom in and out.
